The Botanical Candle Company started making soy wax candles in 2014 and now hand pour thousands of candles every month from their studio in Shaftesbury, Dorset. Every candle is made by hand, from start to finish.

Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. It is a carbon neutral product and is clean burning, so doesn't release harmful toxins or pollutants. Soy burns on average 40-50% slower than paraffin wax, resulting in a longer lasting candle.

Light your candle for 2-4 hours at a time, or until there is a layer of melted wax aross the entire surface of the jar. Trim the wick to 5mm every time you light your candle. A longer wick will result in a larger flame, which will burn through the wax too quickly. Keep away from draughts to ensure an even burn.

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Leave at least 10cm between candles and do not burn on or near anything that can catch fire. Do not relight when the wax level is less than 10mm.
