Beeswax candles add a touch of magic to any space. The subtle honey scent creates a wonderful atmosphere and will turn every gathering into a celebration.

Our colourful taper candles are made by hand in a small workshop in Hertfordshire. The third generation beekeepers we work with harvest beeswax from their own apiaries and the candles they produce are made using traditional methods.

The time-honoured technique of dipping is a slow and gradual process. The wicks are hung from a metal frame which is dipped at intervals into the molten wax. Each layer is cooled before they are dipped again, with this process repeated until the desired shape is reached. Some are dipped up to 20 times.

Dipping with beeswax can be traced back to the middle ages, when it was considered noble and reserved for the church and the wealthy. Pure beeswax is renowned for it's subtle honey scent and burns cleanly - unlike parrafin wax - with barely any smoke or drips.

Trim the wick to 4-5mm every time you light your candle. A longer wick will result in a larger flame, which will burn through the wax too quickly. Keep away from draughts to ensure an even burn.
