As the founder of Weald Store, I’m fortunate to work closely with a wonderful team of British makers and craftspeople.
With the festive season approaching, I wanted to share a collection of my most-loved finds for your Christmas dining table. Each piece has been carefully chosen to help you create a memorable and beautifully styled setting, ready for your celebrations.
For many, the Christmas feast is the most cherished meal of the year, where the joy of gathering around the table with loved ones is the highlight of the festive season.
Whether you’re hosting a large group or creating a cosy, intimate setting for a handful of guests, adding just a few little extras will make your gathering feel truly special and memorable for everyone involved.
So here are 5 of my very favourite Weald Store finds, to create a stylish and welcoming dining table this Christmas.
1. Hand-dipped beeswax candles, to create that all important celebratory atmosphere.
Hand-dipped beeswax dinner tapers, sold as a pair. Burn time of 8 hours.
Beeswax candles give a beautifully soft, golden glow and a gentle, warm scent; perfect for creating a cosy, welcoming atmosphere at your dining table. Pure beeswax is prized for its sweet, subtle honey fragrance and clean, drip-free burn.
At home, we love to pair our beeswax candles with freshly gathered foliage from the garden to craft a beautiful, natural centre piece. The combination of the candles’ warm honey scent and the crisp, earthy aroma of greenery like pine, eucalyptus, or holly creates an inviting atmosphere perfect for any gathering, bringing the beauty of the outdoors right to your table.
2. Black iron candle holders, to add height and interest to your table scape.
Iron candle holders, available in short or tall.
Pair dark-toned candle holders in varying heights with beeswax tapers to bring a soft, warm glow to your dining table. The rustic charm of our iron candleholders complement the golden hue of the candles beautifully.
To create visual interest, vary the height of the candles and the holders for a dynamic, layered effect; being mindful not to block eye contact across the table, so conversations and holiday cheer can flow.
3. Ceramic Candle Holders, to add a handcrafted touch to your festive table.
Hand-thrown ceramic candle holders, made in Norfolk by Norwich-based potter Eleanor Torbati.
Consider dotting a selection of ceramic dinner candle holders along your Christmas dining table, or any other crowd favourite locations for that matter - perhaps the fireplace or a conversation-starting bookcase. Ceramic pieces will always add a subtle handmade charm to your festive setting.
Pair them with our beeswax dinner and taper candles, to illuminate the table with the gentle glow of candlelight.
4. Adorn candle holders and table accessories with a velvet bow, to add a whimsical festive flourish.
Hand-tied velvet bows to adorn every table accessory.
Add delightful hand-tied velvet bows to candle holders, napkins, wine bottles, or even wine glasses for an extra touch of charm on your Christmas dining table.
Use a velvet bow to highlight your décor accents - linens or crockery perhaps - or to add a pop of colour to an otherwise neutral colour palette. Coordinating the colours with your Christmas tree decor will also help tie the whole look together, creating a beautifully cohesive and festive atmosphere.
5. Hand-poured scented candles make the sweetest Christmas table favour.
Half Light scented winter candle, with clementine & clove.
Hand-poured scented candles make the sweetest table favour for your Christmas setting, adding a thoughtful and personal touch to the festivities.
Our collection of scented soy wax candles are hand-poured in Dorset and are inspired by nature; blending simple, recognisable scents that evoke a sense of comfort and familiarity. With 16 scents to choose from, there’s plenty of variety to ensure every guest will find something they love.
Perfect for placing next to each place setting or gifting at the end of the meal, these candles would add a unique, personal touch to your Christmas table that guests will remember long after the celebrations are over.
I hope these handpicked selections inspire you to create a table that’s both welcoming and memorable, filled with warmth and character. Here’s to a joyful, beautifully set table and a Christmas filled with unforgettable moments with those you love.
